Facials, Retinol, and Skin Purging: How to embrace imperfections for upgraded skin

September 30, 2022 Guest User
Image displays a close up of hands putting a skincare serum onto their fingertips. The bottle is a blue color.

Retinol is one of the most highly researched and well-known skincare ingredients prescribed specifically for acne and anti-aging. Winter time features shorter days and longer periods inside (away from the sun) which makes it the ideal time to use retinol! Additionally, services like skin peels, and ingredients like AHA/BHA, salicylic and benzoyl peroxide all carry the same recommendation. It is time to begin using these ingredients to resurface the deeper layers of your skin!

Fall swaps that your skin will thank you for

September 22, 2022 Guest User
Image displays a woman's face with brown eyes, and freckles, and a slight smile. She is holding her face and her skin is glowing.

An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of repair! And skincare should be changed throughout the year to tailor to your skin’s current needs. Things like the weather and lifestyle will affect the health of your skin. Generally speaking, during the summer, our skin is assaulted by more sunlight. Activities in the summer usually include staying up later or being out at the beach all day, in and out of the salty ocean. And even though we did our best to protect our skin by staying out of the sun and wearing sunscreen, we are only human. Tending to your skin every fall is a valuable anti-aging practice that will contribute to younger-looking skin without years of buildup to deal with down the line.

A Lazy girl's guide to the "Clean Girl Aesthetic"

August 26, 2022 Guest User
Image displays a collage of skincare products, a woman applying a serum, matcha tea, a monstera leaf, social media "likes", all on a background of various textures of products.

The “clean girl aesthetic” is a trend that embraces the inner basic pumpkin-spiced-latte girl in all of us…the girl that social media wants us to strive to be, perfectly put together without seemingly any effort…Arriving early and still somehow fashionably late whilst sipping a homemade iced matcha latte. It’s the vibe of a slicked-back Olaplex bun with no flyaways and a perfectly dewey fresh tan…you get the picture. In line with this trend, there have surfaced some wild 10-step skincare routines along with one-hour “no makeup makeup routines”…you know the routine you do when someone says “you look so great without makeup” and you think to yourself, “wow, if only you actually saw me without any makeup.”

Plump me up - Why drinking water is crucial for your skincare routine

June 21, 2022 Guest User
Image displays four iced water bottles with various slices of fruit in each one.

Most of my life, I have been what I refer to as…a dehydrated sufferer. I have chronically dealt with dehydration and done absolutely nothing about it. Drinking water is too basic for me. It’s monotonous, I have to pee, and it’s one of those annoying daily habits that just never stuck. I have been in a cycle of over-caffeinating, under-watering - then crashing, unable to concentrate because I end up opting for another coffee instead of doing the thing my body is screaming for - drinking WATER! And then I have anxiety and wonder why! Does this sound familiar?
